At least 23 people have been killed in separate armed attacks in Benue State, central Nigeria, in the latest wave of violence to hit the region.A state official said that the armed attacks occurred in four villages. Militant violence remains frequent in central and northern Nigeria, often involving kidnappings and the deliberate targeting of civilians.
