23 killed in armed attacks in Central Nigeria

At least 23 people have been killed in separate armed attacks in Benue State, central Nigeria, in the latest wave of violence to hit the region.A state official said that the armed attacks occurred in four villages. Field reports confirmed the deaths of at least 23 people in the attacks.He explained that eight people were killed in Ukum, nine in nearby Logo, and three each in Goma and Kwande, while others were injured.Over the past month, several areas in Benue State have experienced a surge in armed attacks, resulting in at least 56 fatalities. Militant violence remains frequent in central and northern Nigeria, often involving kidnappings and the deliberate targeting of civilians.
