The UK government will put new measures amending the Syria sanctions regime, a UK official has said.Minister of State for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Stephen Doughty added in a statement the amendments would include the relaxation of restrictions on the energy, transport and finance sectors, and the provision to further support humanitarian delivery.’The Government remains determined to hold Bashar Al Assad and his associates to account for their actions against the people of Syria. We will ensure that asset freezes and travel bans imposed on members of the former regime remain in force,’ the statement read. (
