Dubai’s Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has announced the formation of a new council to address drug crime and trafficking. This decision, made during a Cabinet meeting held at Qasr Al Watan, reflects the UAE government’s commitment to combatting substance abuse and enhancing international cooperation in this field. The establishment of the anti-narcotics council is a significant step in their efforts to tackle drug trafficking effectively.
“Drugs are the scourge of this era, the cancer of societies, and an epidemic targeting our dearest possessions, targeting youth. Fighting it is a patriotic duty for every guardian.. and every government and security official. The solidarity of governmental and educational agencies, security institutions, and families on one hand is the impenetrable bulwark against those who want evil with us and our children,” Sheikh Mohammed said via Twitter.
The main goals of the council include strengthening the engagement of federal ministries, local authorities, and security institutions in a collaborative effort to address drug-related challenges.
