The vast majority of UAE citizens traveled throughout the world during their summer holidays, which coincided with the start of the summer season and school breaks last month.
According to analysts, the price of vacation packages has decreased this month. Raheesh Babu, COO of Musafir.com, stated that they had witnessed an almost 30% decrease in airfares in August.
Residents now have the freedom to prolong their holidays or continue their vacations thanks to decreasing travel and ticket prices. “Due to lower airline ticket prices and enticing deals on popular travel destinations, residents of the UAE are starting long vacation trips this month.”
According to experts, locals prefer getaways that last 5–6 nights and cost an average of Dh3,500–Dh4,500 per person. Some are even extending their vacations to 10 days.
“We have found that many residents are eager to travel in August as a result of the decrease in the cost of vacation packages. The most popular packages have a price range of Dh3,000 to Dh3,500, according to Mir Wasim Raja, manager at Galadari Brothers ITS.
Families-focused travel experiences are important, as seen by the roughly 80% of travelers who plan family holidays. In the first month of summer vacation, a lot of families like to visit their hometowns. After coming home, they are ready to spend some more time with their kids before school resumes, according to Raja.
Affordability is one of the major elements that have increased locals’ interest in traveling, according to industry experts who have also noted a yearning for novel encounters and locations.
Babu thinks that although prior home country holidays were the norm, there has been a “remarkable shift” in people’s travel preferences as they now choose two leisure trips that are paired with visits to loved ones.
In search of the ideal mix of luxury and affordability, many people are choosing to upgrade their travel experiences with premium economy flights and minimum 4-star hotels.
Experts have noted that popular travel destinations with only one layover include Bangkok, Georgia, Baku, Salalah, Abha, and Al-Ula. These locations also include countries that grant visas upon arrival.
Over 15,000 packages were sold this year, more than doubling the number of packages sold the year before (pre-Covid). This is an unusual increase in leisure package bookings. Double-digit growth is anticipated to be driven in the upcoming years by the growth momentum.
