Renowned actor Tom Cruise, known for his daring stunts in action films, and director Christopher McQuarrie, will grace the red carpet premiere of the highly anticipated ‘Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’ at the prestigious Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi on June 26. This film extensively utilized Abu Dhabi as a shooting location.
Joining Cruise and McQuarrie at the Middle East Premiere later this month will be co-stars Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, and Simon Pegg.
The star-studded premiere in the Middle East marks a significant milestone for the film, as it was filmed extensively in locations such as the Liwa desert and the Abu Dhabi Midfield Terminal. The shoot, supported by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission under the Creative Media Authority, involved a collaborative effort to ensure the success of the complex filming process. According to a statement, multiple sets were constructed at the terminal, and an Arabian village was built in the desert to align with the movie’s narrative.
This marks the second time that the Mission Impossible franchise has chosen Abu Dhabi as a filming location. The previous installment, Mission: Impossible – Fallout in 2018, featured a thrilling jump sequence shot in Abu Dhabi, made possible with the support of the Abu Dhabi Film Commission (ADFC), twofour54, and the UAE military.
Expressing pride and honor, Khalfan Al Mazrouei, Acting Director General of the Creative Media Authority, stated that hosting the premiere of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One in Abu Dhabi is a testament to the emirate’s status as a leading film and TV destination in the Middle East and North Africa region. The collaboration with such a groundbreaking franchise showcases Abu Dhabi’s ability to provide everything required for the successful completion of large-scale and intricate productions, emphasizing its appeal to filmmakers.
