With a salary of more than £650,000 per week, the former Liverpool winger would make more than £34 million (€40 million) per year playing for the Saudi Arabian club tax-free.
The 31-year-old, who will play with Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League, is scheduled to undergo a physical on Monday in Dubai. Mane just signed a three-year contract with Bayern last summer after leaving Liverpool for £35 million, but he lost favor after hitting teammate Leroy Sane following a Champions League loss to Manchester City in April.
As Bayern won their 11th straight Bundesliga championship, Mane was benched and fined. In 38 games, the winger scored 12 goals. He was absent from Saturday’s friendly in Tokyo against Kawasaki Frontale despite traveling with Bayern on their pre-season Asian tour.
Sadio Mane is not in the team today because he is in contract negotiations before a potential move, according to Bayern. Mane joined from Southampton in 2016 and left with 269 appearances and 120 goals in all competitions. Senegal forward was acquired by Bayern Munich for a base price of £27.5m plus £7.5m in add-ons.
He won the Premier League, the Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the FA Cup, and the Carabao Cup during his six years at Anfield.
