A sewing center for prisoners has been revealed in Dubai thanks to a partnership between the Danube Group and the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments of the Dubai Police.
As stated by Brigadier Marwan Abdul Karim Julfar, the director of the General Department of Punitive and Correctional Establishments, this initiative aims to give prisoners the chance to learn, train, and develop a skill that enables them to earn money and support their families.
According to Shabnam Nassar, the facility’s director, the sewing facility runs under the supervision of knowledgeable professionals and is especially made to produce clothing and accessories that meet the demands of the regional market.
Inmates’ creations will thereafter be made available for purchase to the general population.
As a platform for education and training, the facility gives offenders access to vocational training, an essential step in their rehabilitation and reintegration.
Brigadier Julfar thanked the Danube Group for its unwavering assistance to both male and female prisoners. He highlighted the company’s crucial contribution to the professional and academic growth of prisoners, whether it be by helping them start businesses after their release or opening them new employment options.
The executive director of Danube Group, Rizwan Sajan, expressed gratitude for the successful working relationship with Dubai Police and praised the latter for playing a key humanitarian role in boosting neighborhood safety and security.
