At the UAE Pro League awards event for the 2022–23 season, which was held at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental in Abu Dhabi, Al Jazira’s talisman Ali Mabkhout earned the Golden Ball prize for the best Emirati player for a record fourth time.
Mabkhout, the ‘Pride of Abu Dhabi’s’ go-to goal scorer, finished the season with 27 goals, one less than Togolese striker Laba Kodjo of Al Ain, who won the Golden Shoe award given to the ADNOC Pro League’s top scorer.
Yahya Al Ghassani and Ali Saleh of Shabab Al Ahli were other contenders for the title of finest Emirati footballer.
Federico Cartabia, a winger for league champion Shabab Al Ahli, defeated Laba Kodjo and Mohamed Firas Ben Larbi of Ajman to win the Golden Ball for the best foreign player.
Cosmin Olaroiu, the manager of Sharjah, received the best coach prize for a record-breaking fourth time. Adel Al Hosani, the goalkeeper for his team, was given the Golden Glove prize for best goalkeeper.
Soufian Rahimi of Al Ain was selected as the Fans’ Player of the Year, and Erik Jorgens, another member of the squad, took home the Golden Boy Award for Best Player (Resident/Born).
Fabio De Lima, a stalwart for Al Wasl, won the Fans’ Goal of the Year award.
Harib Abdalla Suhail of Shabab Al Ahli won the Golden Boy award for the category of Best U-23 Emirati Player.
Al Ain won the Professional Excellence in Club Licensing award, but Al Jazira received the Fans League Award.
Abdullah Naser Al Jneibi, the chairman of the Pro League, thanked everyone on a job well done.
“I appreciate the UAE leadership’s ongoing assistance. Every coach, player, and team in attendance is a winner. No one is a loser. Al Jneibi stated, “I am looking forward to the upcoming season and conquering obstacles.
Tickets have been made available for the eagerly anticipated new season’s opening games. The Platinumlist website and the official website of the UAE Pro League both allow fans to reserve seats.
The first games are scheduled for August 18 and 19. Al Wahda vs. Al Bataeh, Ittihad Kalba vs. Sharjah, Ajman vs. Shabab Al Ahli, and Al Ain vs. Bani Yas are among the thrilling matchups on the Friday schedule. Al Wasl against. Emirates, Khorfakkan vs. Hatta, and Al Nasr vs. Al Jazira are the matches scheduled for this Saturday.
