Rwanda-DRC peace deal a ‘significant step’ towards peace: UN chief

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres welcomed an agreement between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda as ‘a significant step’ towards peace, after the two countries signed a deal to end fighting that has killed thousands.’This Agreement is a significant step towards de-escalation, peace and stability’ in the region, Guterres said in a statement, urging both countries to ‘honour in full’ their commitments taken under the peace deal.
