Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed that Pakistan had always desired peace in the region.The Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) quoted Sharif as saying that his country would never accept any violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity.The Prime Minister said it was in this spirit that Pakistan had agreed to accept the ceasefire understanding with India, according to APP.The border areas between Pakistan and India have seen military escalation a few days ago, including missile strikes, artillery shelling, and drone attacks. This followed an attack in late April in the Indian-administered part of Kashmir, which resulted in 26 deaths in the tourist city of Pahalgam. However, the two countries reached a ceasefire agreement with US mediation.
