US fighter jets conducted intense airstrikes overnight, as part of counter-terrorism operations, on the Mirali Valley in Bari Province, Puntland State, northeastern Somalia, where ISIS-affiliated groups are bunkered.In an official statement published by the Somali National News Agency (SONNA), Puntland Administration highlighted that the airstrikes targeted limited sites where ISIS elements were gathering, emphasizing that the strikes accomplished the intended military objectives.In collaboration with the US Administration, the security forces in Puntland affirmed that the strikes inflicted heavy casualties among the militants, though the size of the damage has yet to be entirely confirmed.The Federal Government in Somalia, alongside its international allies, is committed to boosting cooperation in eliminating militant groups.
