Four killed, 142 Injured in Oklahoma wildfires, US

Four people were killed and about 142 others were injured in scattered wildfires that swept through the US state of Oklahoma, with a fire warning remaining in effect until evening.Local authorities in Oklahoma reported that the fires have consumed more than 170,000 acres and destroyed more than 400 homes. Mass evacuations were conducted amid severe weather conditions that contributed to the spread of the fires. The fires are due to a summer heat wave and drought affecting the southern part of South America due to the El Nino weather phenomenon, amid warnings from scientists that global warming increases the risk of natural disasters such as extreme heat and wildfires.
