Climate change is “side effect” of industrial development – US Energy Secretary

US Energy Secretary Chris Wright said that climate change is a side effect of industrial development, stressing the Trump administration's commitment to ending the climate policies implemented by the previous administration and promoting the growth of the fossil fuel sector.During his speech at the opening of the CERAWeek, the US largest energy conference, Wright said, ‘the Trump administration will treat climate change for what it is, a global physical phenomenon that is a side effect of building the modern world Everything in life involves trade-offs.’He added that the Trump administration aims to accelerate the pace of growth in the energy sector, predicting that US liquefied natural gas exports will double in the coming years.In remarks to reporters, Wright confirmed that oil, gas, and coal will remain vital sources for the global economy, noting that global demand for energy is continuously rising.The US Energy Secretary also said that the policies of the previous administration to combat global warming were not effective
