11 soldiers killed in armed attack in Northern Niger

Eleven soldiers from Niger's Defense and Security Forces (FDS) were killed in an attack carried out by Al-Qaeda-linked armed group in the north of the country.An army patrol was ambushed, resulting in the deaths of 11 soldiers and the injury of others, according to (Air Info) news website.Northern Niger frequently witnesses attacks by armed groups targeting security forces. The area is also a key transit route for African migrants attempting to reach Europe.
