Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor reported that Israeli occupation forces have forcibly displaced tens of thousands of Palestinians as part of their ongoing aggression against cities, villages, and refugee camps in northern West Bank. The organization stated that this displacement aims to uproot Palestinians from their lands in an attempt to impose new realities on the ground that contravene international law.The Monitor explained in a statement that its field team documented cases of forced displacement targeting hundreds of Palestinians from Al-Fara refugee camp in Tubas, northern West Bank. It noted that this displacement is part of a broader offensive that began on Feb. 2, during which occupation forces repeatedly stormed Al-Fara camp and Tammun town, destroying homes and infrastructure and imposing strict curfews on residents. The Monitor confirmed that Israeli forces are escalating their operations in West Bank through systematic practices, most notably mass forced displacement. This has been particularly evident since the occupation announced a large-scale military operation that began in Jenin and its refugee camp on Jan. 21, later extending to Tulkarm and the Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps. It highlighted that the current wave of forced displacement in West Bank is the most extensive in decades, drawing parallels with the situation in Gaza, where nearly two million Palestinians have been forcibly displaced through mass eviction orders deemed illegal. The statement added that Israel is forcibly displacing thousands of Palestinians in West Bank as part of new ethnic cleansing operations. The Monitor further stated that the genocidal policies in West Bank go beyond forced displacement, including widespread destruction, demolitions, and arson targeting residential buildings and infrastructure, as well as deliberate cutting of electricity, water, and communication services to create unbearable living conditions.Additionally, it pointed to a policy of extrajudicial killings, which resulted in the deaths of 35 Palestinians, including five children, and injuries to nearly 300 others within just 19 days. The Monitor warned that Israels long-standing impunity and the international communitys failure to address its crimes particularly the ongoing genocide in Gaza for over 15 months are emboldening it to expand its aggression, raising the risk of similar crimes in West Bank.Concluding its statement, the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor urged the international community to ensure Palestinians right to live with freedom and dignity, support their right to self-determination in line with international law, and work to end Israels illegal occupation and colonial settlement expansion. It also called for dismantling the apartheid system imposed on Palestinians, lifting unlawful blockade on Gaza, ensuring accountability for Israeli perpetrators, and guaranteeing justice and compensation for Palestinian victims.
