New border clashes erupt between Afghanistan and Pakistan

New clashes broke out on Wednesday between Afghan and Pakistani forces along the Durand Line between the two countries, following recent airstrikes and rising tensions between Kabul and Islamabad.

Afghanistan's Khaama Press said that clashes also erupted in Shorabak district of Kandahar province and continued into early Tuesday morning.

Neither Kabul nor Islamabad has released official figures on casualties or damage.

The latest border confrontation follows Pakistani airstrikes last week targeting areas in Kabul and Paktika provinces.
