5.4-Magnitude earthquake hit Southwest China’s Sichuan Province

A 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck on Thursday the county of Xinlong in Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, southwest China's Sichuan Province.

The China Earthquake Networks Center reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km.

China is considered one of the countries most prone to earthquakes due to its geographical location on the Pacific ‘line of fire,’ where several tectonic plates meet.
