US Senate passes tax, spending cuts bill

The US Senate approved by a single vote a bill proposed by President Donald Trump to cut taxes and spending.

The vote was 51 to 50, and the bill is scheduled to be sent to the House of Representatives in the coming days for passage.

The bill proposes a package of tax cuts, social security programs, and increased military spending and immigration enforcement, adding $3.3 trillion to the national debt.

On the other hand, the bill reduces approximately $930 billion in spending on the Medicaid health care program, food assistance for low-income US citizens, and repeals several green energy incentives introduced by former President Joe Biden.
