Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan affirmed that his country is closely monitoring all developments in the Middle East and is actively involved as a mediator working to prevent or halt wars.In his remarks, Fidan emphasized the need for an agreement between Tehran and Washington, noting that there is currently a period of silence between the two sides, despite both expressing a desire to return to the negotiating table. He pointed out that the Europeans also have a process they wish to pursue with the Iranians, and stressed that the Middle East must remain on high alert for the potential collapse of the ceasefire and renewed mutual attacks between Iran and the Israeli entity. The Turkish Foreign Minister also noted that the conflict between Iran and the Israeli entity does not only affect those two countries but has broader regional implications. He explained that the nuclear issue is only one dimension of the dynamic between the Israeli entity and Iran, with other components also at play.He said that as a result of the US military operation, it became clear that Iran's nuclear facilities sustained severe damage and are no longer operational, adding that the biggest challenge now is convincing both sides, especially Tehran, to return to the negotiating table.
