Iranian President, Pakistani Prime Minister discuss relations, regional, international developments

ranian President Masoud Pezeshkian discussed, during a meeting Monday with the visiting Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, means to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields and regional and international developments, particularly the Palestinian issue.

During a joint press conference following the meeting, the Iranian President emphasized that Tehran considers expanding and strengthening relations with Islamabad an important and strategic matter.

He said that Iran and Pakistan, as active members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), support the aspirations of the Palestinian people and condemn the crimes of the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip and the silence of Western countries towards them.

He called on Islamic countries to take action to defend the Palestinian people.

For his part, the Pakistani Prime Minister condemned the ongoing brutal Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and urged the international community to take immediate action to achieve a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
