Spain and Norway have called for ceasing the war on the Gaza Strip and recognizing the State of Palestine.During his meeting Sunday with his Norwegian counterpart, Espen Barth Eide, Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs Jose Manuel Albares affirmed that recognizing the State of Palestine constitutes an indispensable step toward safeguarding the prospects for peace in the region.He emphasized that it is incumbent upon the international community to uphold fundamental values and protect human dignity in this context.The Spanish government is weighing the possibility of imposing punitive measures on the Israeli entity. It is highly imperative to ensure life-saving humanitarian aid is smoothly reaching the Gaza Strip without any hindrances, Albares stressed.For his part, Eide stressed the importance of continuing diplomatic efforts to galvanize broader global support to establish independent Palestinian statehood. He underlined that the international community is required today to enhance its obligations toward the Palestinians' rights.
