7 killed in bus-truck collision in Southern Russia

Seven people were killed and 11 others injured Monday in a collision between a passenger bus and a truck in the Ustinsky District of the Republic of Kalmykia, southern Russia.The General Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations said in a statement that the accident occurred on the Caspian Sea Federal Highway, a major road connecting several southern Russian cities.The statement said that the bus, carrying 21 passengers, was en route from Volgograd to Astrakhan when the collision occurred.Emergency teams rushed to the scene, while authorities began investigating the causes and circumstances of the accident.
