Seven people have died, and 34 others were injured after a tourist wooden boat sank in the Bengkulu province of Indonesia.A rescue official in Bengkulu province stated that the incident occurred on Sunday night while the boat was returning from Tikus Island to the city of Bengkulu. The boat was carrying 98 tourists and 6 crew members. The official added that the boat experienced a sudden engine failure in the midst of a storm, strong winds, and high waves just before reaching the city. It collided with a coral rock after being hit by massive waves, causing water to leak into the boat, which led to its complete sinking. In a similar incident last December, 15 people were lost while two survived after a fishing vessel sank off the coast of Maluku province in eastern Indonesia.
