India, Pakistan agree to ceasefire, President Trump announces

U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that following high-level talks, both India and Pakistan have agreed to a “full and immediate” ceasefire.The announcement came after a series of escalations, including Indian missile strikes on Pakistani air bases and retaliatory air strikes by Pakistan. Explosions were reported in Srinagar and Jammu, while the Indian army stated it had shot down multiple enemy drones over Amritsar.Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed the ceasefire via X, stating:“Pakistan and India have agreed to a ceasefire with immediate effect. Pakistan has always strived for peace and security in the region, without compromising on its sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
