The USS Carl Vinson, a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier equipped with advanced F-35C Lightning II stealth fighters, has arrived in the Middle East, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said.Operating alongside the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75), the Carl Vinson (CVN 70) is now active within the CENTCOM area of responsibility, which spans northeast Africa, the Middle East, and parts of Central and South Asia. The deployment follows a directive from US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who earlier this month ordered the movement of additional warplanes and naval assets to the region.Hegseth emphasized that the USS Carl Vinsons arrival marks a continuation of US efforts to promote regional stability, deter aggression, and ensure the free flow of global commerce. He noted that the aircraft carriers deployment follows the conclusion of military exercises in the Indo-Pacific.
