S. Korea to review establishing formal diplomatic relationship with Syria

South Korea announced that it has decided to review establishing a formal diplomatic relationship with Syria following the recent fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime.An official at the South Korean foreign ministry revealed the plan after returning from a trip to Syria earlier this month, where the official confirmed the Syrian interim government's willingness to establish diplomatic ties with Seoul and examined the country's current situation, (Yonhap) News Agency said.The South Korean official confirmed his country's determination to participate in the reconstruction efforts in Syria.Syria is the only UN member country with which South Korea does not have diplomatic ties.
