Colombian President calls for resignation of all cabinet members due to government crisis

Colombian President Gustavo Petro asked his ministers and other senior officials in the government to resign, amid deep divisions in his government.’I have requested the resignation of ministers and directors of administrative departments. There will be some changes in the cabinet to achieve a greater compliance with the program mandated by the people,’ Petro said in a post on X.Susana Muhamad, the environment minister who hosted COP16 last year, announced her resignation earlier after an unusual and stormy meeting last Tuesday between Colombia's first leftist president and his government.During the meeting, Petro, who took office in 2022, reprimanded nearly all of his ministers for the lack of progress in implementing projects.’I have submitted my letter of resignation to President Gustavo Petro,’ the environment minister said in televised remarks, adding that the decision was ‘difficult.
