UK successfully tests drone killer radiowave weapon for first time

Britain has successfully trialed for the first time a game-changing weapon that can take down a swarm of drones using radio waves. The Radio Frequency Directed Energy Weapon (RFDEW) development system can detect, track and engage a range of threats across land, air and sea.RFDEWs are capable of neutralizing targets up to 1km away with near instant effect.British Minister for Defense Procurement and Industry Maria Eagle hailed the RFDEW as a ‘potentially game-changing’ weapon. The Russian war on Ukraine has demonstrated how low-cost drones can have a devastating impact.Traditional weapons such as surface-to-air missiles can cost many times more than the drones they are trying to shoot down. The RFDEW fires high-frequency waves that disrupt or damage critical electronic components inside targets such as unmanned vehicles, causing them to be immobilized or fall out of the sky.
